What story does your building tell about the kind of church God has called you to be?

Your community is your mission field.

Does your building reflect a ministry outpost or a religious museum?

Let’s rethink the purpose of church facilities and explore how we can bring the church back to the center of the community through spaces that are more flexible, accessible, hospitable, relevant and inclusive.

Discover how church buildings can be designed to be more effective ministry tools that meet the needs of the community 7 days a week.

Join us as we explore what it means to be an embedded church - a ministry that not only shifts from an internal to an external focus, but one that is physically and spiritually woven into the fabric of their community.

SPEAKERS

David Wright

Lead Pastor, Life Link Church - Gilbert, AZ

“Linking People and God Together for Life.” That was the vision of Life Link Church when it began in 2006 with a group of 30 adults and 20 kids lead by Pastor David Wright. On Super Bowl Sunday, February 5, 2006 David and his wife Chereé shared the vision God had given them about planting a local church that would be a part of God’s BIG plan for the Southeast Phoenix Valley. With the help of that team of pioneers – and the supernatural favor of God – Life Link Church began meeting in small groups the following week. God added to their numbers so rapidly that they outgrew the homes they were meeting in within just a few weeks.

Life Link Church celebrated its Grand Opening on Easter Sunday of 2006 with 254 people in attendance. Since that time, the vision has remained the same as the church has grown through the initial set up phase, into a building of their own, and now in preparation for multi-site campuses. Life Link Church focuses on helping people from all walks of life and faith backgrounds make the life-changing “link” (relationship) with Jesus Christ and with a Christ-centered church family that would transform their lives forever.

Matt Roberts

Senior Pastor of The Genesis Project - Ogden, UT

Matt is the Founder and Lead Pastor of The Genesis Project, a church based in Ogden, Utah that has grown to a multi-site movement in 6 communities across the nation reaching thousands every week. He is also the author of an upcoming book entitled "The God of New Beginnings: How the Power of Relationships Brings Hope and Redeems Lives". For 18 years Matt has served in various roles helping churches and denominations revitalize and reimagine their church planting strategies through an embedded, sustainable, community lens. Matt and his family moved to Utah in 2005 to pursue a lifelong dream of planting a “church for people who don’t do church.” That dream has materialized as The Genesis Project, a church moved to reach the darkest areas of the city with the hope of Jesus. The church operates a full-service event center, community coffee shop, multiple ministry and rehabilitation homes and non-profit community services.
